Trail Rides
The Casey Saddle Club will be having monthly trail rides on the Sunday following several of the scheduled horse shows. Therefore, trail rides dates for 2006 are as follows: May (announced at show if one is planned,) June 11th, July 8th, August 26th, and September 9th.
Trail rides will begin at 2:00 PM and will end between 4:00-5:00 PM. A carry-in dinner will follow. (Please bring something to share if you are planning on staying to eat and fellowship with the club.) Trail rides are located in the Old Stone Quarry about 4 miles south of Casey. Take Route 49 South from Casey to 700th Rd. Turn Left (east.) Quarry is 1/2 mile on the South Side of the road.

2006 Clark County Fair Horse Shows are Saturday, June 10th Speed Show and Sunday, June 11th Pleasure Show.
2006 Martinsville Agricultural Fair Horse Shows are Monday, June 26th Junior Horse Show and Saturday, July 1st Open Horse Show.
4-H
Events
The Casey Saddle Club encourages youth to participate in all Saddle Club events, especially 4-H members. In cooperation with the Clark County Cooperative Extension Service, several events will be held at the Casey Saddle Club.
Events will be held on the following dates:
-A St. Jude Benefit Trail Ride, sponsored by Clark County 4-H will be held Sunday, May 7th, 2006 at 2:00 PM. Trail Ride took place at the home of Mike and Karen Hutchens, Southeast of Martinsville, IL. A coook-out will be held afterwards. Bring a dish to share. All 4-Hers are required to wear helmets in order to participate. Last year, over 25 horses and riders participated, raising about $ 900 for St. Jude's. We hope to raise more money this year.
-The 3rd annual 4-H Horse and Pony Tack Auction was held Saturday, February 25th, at the Marshall Extension Office. Over $3,000 was raised for the Clark County Horse/Pony Program! Thank you to all who supported the program!
-Illinois Horse Judges Seminar was held April 8 at Kewanee, IL.
-Horse Bowl and Hippology team headed to the State Contest at U of I on April 22-23. The teams participated in the Regional Contest on March 11 at U of I and did very well.
-The Illinois Horse Fair was March 3-5 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL. Seven youth from Clark County attended the fair and participated in the All-Youth Horse Judging Trials on the 4th.
-Hoosier Horse Fair was March 31-April 2 at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, IN.
-State Fair Junior Horse Show is scheduled for July 11-16th.
-The Clark County 4-H drill team is beginning practice on Wednesday, May 17th at Martinsville Fair Grounds at 7:00 PM. Bring horses and helmets to this meeting. For more information, contact Cartha at the number below or Bob Zellers at 217-932-5411.
