2007 Annual Meeting Minutes:
The annual meeting and election of officers of the Edgar County Genealogical Society was held
Tuesday, June 12th. The new officers for the 2007-2008 year are as follows: President Norman Carroll, Vice President and Program Chair Open at this time,
Treasurer Debbie Wilson, Secretary Shirley Bishop, Director Tracy Tresner.
After a brief business meeting, the Edythe Stephens Family History Award was presented to our current president, Norman Carroll.
He is a great asset to our Society and our community. Along with serving as President of our Society, he is leading a genealogy class at the Martinsville
library and has just completed a scrapbook of obituaries and items of interest from the Kansas, IL, newspapers on mico-film.
The new book is in the process of being put together, it has over 300 pages and over 4,500 names in the index.
Following the presentatin, Fred Delap gave a program on military records found on the Illinois Secretary of State website.

microfilm and converting the data into a format which allows the Secretary of State's office to publish this information on their website.
The next time you see either of these men, please give them a "Thank You" for the time and effort they give to the
genealogical community.
A social hour with refreshments followed the meeting.
